Plant Identifiers: Broad, ridged leaves with a silvery underside, and tiny thorns along the stems. Red fruit.
Etymology: Greek Olympian Gods could be found collecting the ripe berries around Mount Ida, hence the name Rubus idaeus which means “bramble of Ida” in Latin.
