Notes:
A perennial that flowers in its second year. Its large leaves can be used culinary in place of garden sage. One of its unique uses is as a northern substitute for chia seeds as it is botanically similar and in the mint family.

Plant Identifiers: Thick square stems covered in hairs. The leaves are approximately 1 ft long at the base, .5 ft long higher on the plant. The upper leaf surface is rugose, and covered with glandular hairs. The flowers are in verticils, with 2-6 flowers in each verticil.
